So before you put too much pressure on yourself, here are some things not to stress about even if it seems impossible.

1. Exams

Exams are an important aspect of your life, but they are also one of the things not to stress about. Of course a little bit of nerves before the test is good, but don’t drive yourself insane! Just study hard and be prepared. I’ve had my own share of breakdowns because of finals week but you have to realize that a test is just a test and it is not worth putting yourself into a bad state of mind.

2. Friends That Let Us down

Sooner or later you will have to face ‘friends’ who disappoint you in life and let you down repeatedly. However someone else’s mistakes are not something you should be worrying about. You job is to exclude those people in your life, grant them forgiveness and move on to better and greater things. Stressing over broken ties and getting involved in toxic friendships will never do you any good.

3. Not Knowing Your Definite Future

One of the scariest things in the world to think about is your future. You are not sure who you want to be and what path you want to take, you are just a teenager after all, taking on life on day by day. However, instead of stressing out about what college you want to go to and who you want to be, don’t look too far into the future and plan everything out. Just take one step at a time and before you even realize you will know exactly what you want to do in life.

4. Fitting into a Certain Group of Friends

Some teens have a hard time fitting in. Sometimes they try to fit into a group of friends due to peer pressure and end up going farther away from whom they truly are. This is one of the reasons why you shouldn’t stress about fitting into a certain group of friends. Avoid doing things you are not comfortable with just to be accepted. Soon enough you will find people who fit your personality so don’t worry if you haven’t found them yet.

5. Being Physically Perfect

In today’s society, teen girls and boys often face the pressure of having the perfect appearance. This encourages them to dress a certain way and take on drastic measures to gain or lose weight. This adds more stress and pressure on young adults who are just developing. So if you feel this pressure from the society to look a certain way, find comfort in your own skin and realize that appearance is not everything!

6. Not Having Enough Time

Right now you have a lot on your plate with school, after school activities, friends, family, and chores. It is hard to find the time to do it all and balance it out. In the midst of all the things you do, you also need to find the time for yourself! So if you feel like there is just not enough time in the day, calm your nerves, take a breather and complete your tasks one step at a time.

7. Conflicts with Parents

Aside from trying to keep up your social life, it is important to also have your family life in check. It is common for teenagers to distance themselves from their parents during this period to gain independence, but remember that they are your family! Instead of stressing out and fighting with your parents, respect their wishes and find a compromise.

The transition from childhood to adulthood is a rocky path so you need to lower your stress levels as much as you can. Some things are just not worth stressing over! What are some things you refuse to stress about any longer?
