Having a slumber party is a great way to get together with your friends and do all your favorite things. You can stay up late, do makeovers, watch movies and eat all your favorite foods. But you don’t have to spend a lot of money in order to have an awesome slumber party. These are 7 tips to help you have a great time while spending less.
Some girls don’t feel the need to hand out invitations. A simple group text can clue your besties in that there’s a party at your house. But handing out actual invitations can be fun and everyone loves to receive them, right? You don’t have to buy invitations, though. With all the cool fonts and graphics you can access on your computer, why not make them at home for free?
Of course you have to have pizza! What’s a slumber party without it? But that doesn’t mean spending $100 to order out. You can make homemade pizzas for so much less than that. In addition to saving money, it’ll be fun for you and your friends to personalize a corner of the pizza with the exact toppings you do or don’t want.
Can’t spend a lot of money on snacks for everyone? There’s a way around that. Ask your friends to each bring their favorite snack. It’ll cut down on the amount of money you have to spend and you’ll know for sure that they have something they like to munch on. This way, you don’t have to buy snacks. You could provide the beverages and you’re all set.
Board games can be so much fun at a slumber party. My teenage daughter recently went to one and they had a blast playing Twister. That’s a game that’s bound to make you laugh. There are lots of other fun games, too. And don’t forget card games!
Sometimes it’s fun to pull out your favorite movies to watch at a slumber party. Ask your friends to bring some of their favorites, too. It’s neat to see what everyone has as their favorite. It’s also a chance to get to watch movies that you may have missed. You may even find a new favorite.
Why not turn the music up and dance? It costs nothing, it’s a lot of fun and great exercise. You can even take it up a notch by having your mom or another chaperone award prizes. You might have a prize for best dancer or most unusual dance moves. Trying to win that one can give you a lot of laughs.
Of course you want to provide breakfast for your friends before they go home but you don’t have to go all out. Donuts and milk or orange juice are always a favorite. Is there anyone who doesn’t love donuts? Or you could do pancakes, which are a pretty cheap breakfast option. The point is you give your friends something tasty to enjoy before they hit the road.
