Something fun to try senior year is making a drastic change to your appearance. I'm not talking about a hair trim or maybe new outfit; I mean Extreme Makeover You Edition! So what change should you make? Here's a few ideas!
1. Dye Your Hair
I'm about to graduate too, so over winter break my hair lost its virginity. In other words, I dyed my hair for the first time! Seeing everyone's reaction is so much fun, when they realize I am suddenly blonde! Dye your hair an exciting new color this semester; you're sure to shock your friends! Plus, it's a great change to make right before you graduate high school, because entering the adult world you'll feel like a brand new person!
2. Cut Your Hair
Coco Chanel said that "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life." And that is absolutely true! A dramatic haircut can make you feel like a new person; all that excess weight that was just holding you back is gone, and now you can conquer the world! So what are you waiting for? Make an appointment at the nearest salon and get ready to reinvent yourself!
3. Get a Piercing
Granted, this is someone with six piercings writing this, but I believe that piercings are an adorable, adventurous way to shake up your appearance! Piercings are only as noticeable as you want them to be, but instantly change your identity, both in the eyes of others and yourself! Piercings are a great conversation starter, so if you're 18 or if your parents approve, get a new piercing before you graduate!
4. Get a Visible Tattoo
Also if you're 18, a tattoo is a fun way to change your appearance! Make sure you get something meaningful that you won't regret; please don't tattoo your crush's name! Also, if you want to make a truly drastic change, make sure it's visible. You want something you can show off to your friends without taking off any clothing, but also something small and easily concealable just in case a future employer bans tattoos. 5. Update Your Wardrobe
Who doesn't love an excuse to shop? During senior year, your philosophy should be "out with the old, in with the new!" Donate your old, underclassmen clothes, and update your wardrobe! Try to shop at second hand stores as much as possible to save money and get unique styles! With an updated wardrobe, you'll practically become a whole new woman!
6. Try a New Makeup Style
Another way to revamp your look is a bit less costly, but equally as noticeable. We tend to fall into a pattern when it comes to beauty and makeup routines, so why not shake it up? Start wearing eyeliner, or stop wearing eyeliner! Change your lipstick color to something a bit more lively, wear more face makeup, or get colored contacts. A bunch of little changes accumulate to one big, transformative change that's perfect for graduating seniors! By the time you don your cap and gown, you'll be a completely different person.
7. Wear Heels
I don't know about you, but I derive my power and confidence from my high heeled shoes! Of course, not really, but high heels do cause me to walk with a little bit more grace and a lot more swagger! If you need a change to your physical appearance that you want your friends and family to notice, start wearing heels on a regular basis.
So, my fellow Class of 2015ers, what do you think? Are you going to make any of these changes, or do you have others in mind? Let me know in the comments!
